Comparing the red with the browns. The first set of red is done.
An epic game of exploration, building and conquest

Comparing the red with the browns. The first set of red is done.

That’s our red. It’s more a brick red. Burnt orange and the likes and I was a bit worried it would not be distinct enough, I added 0.6g of yellow …but I think I’ll save the yellow for the yellow. And let this rust be. It’s very pretty as a colour…
And I set up a bit of space on my house to do this work. Finally the semblance of a lab at home 🙂

And then there were ten..
We have ten sets of brown (mahogany+ what looks like ebony). I had some trouble with the hardener oozing out, the weather is making things a bit difficult (longer). So the pieces are not all perfect. Also have some clearly defective pieces (which I have put aside). Headless explorers are a challenge -airbubble problem is less with the current batch of Pu. It flows a little bit better.

Trees and water

Mountain tiles

Almost 3 complete sets for the brown colour. The mould release seems to be working well.

2 sets done 8 to go. Little bubbles no worse than with the brush.

I have set up some space for doing the ten sets of casts of brown 🙂
Small air bubbles….I am doing the next set without stirring…set 2 for the day

Silicone casts
At the moment we are using silicone moulds while thinking about 3d printed moulds.
Silicone is expensive about 1700 per kg. We need almost 4kgs to make the moulds for an entire set of kotay. Right now we are planning to just use ¼ of that and do casting with 4 different colours, 4 times.
